10 Things to Expect in 2024 for Christian Rock and Metal

2023 was a great year for Christian rock and metal, but as this year draws to a close, it’s time to look forward to all the new music and events planned for 2024.

1. Pillar Back Together

Christian rock band Pillar announced they would be performing together in 2024 at Alive Music Festival, in addition to two other performances in the summer, which will be their first live performances together in about nine years. They also announced last month that they’re releasing their popular album, One Love Revolution on vinyl for the first time. Hopefully we can expect new music from them too!

2. Alive Festival

Speaking of Alive Music Festival, the Ohio music festival will take place from July 18-20 in 2024. Including Pillar, the lineup released so far for this upcoming year includes many top Christian rock bands such as Skillet, Disciple, and Stryper.

3. Spoken New Album

Christian rock band Spoken released their newest single “Reflection” this month and announced their next album, also called Reflection, will be released on March 15th next year.

4. Nine Lashes Back Together and New Single

Nine Lashes is rumored to have gotten back together to create their next single, “Ready To See,” which is supposed to be released in January. Prior to this, their most recent music was the single “Among the Stars” in January of 2021.

5. Project 86’s Final Album

Christian metal band Project 86 announced that they will be ending their music career with a two-part album finale. The first part, OMNI, Pt. 1, was released this year, and the last part, OMNI, Pt. 2, is currently scheduled to be released in January.

6. Seventh Day Slumber New Album

Seventh Day Slumber just gave an update on their newest album, Fractured Paradise, set to release in 2024. So far they have released three singles for this album, with the newest being “Feasting on Vultures.” SDS recently shared a few seconds of one of the songs that will be on the album called “Be My Novocaine” on Instagram

7. Winter Jam

Winter Jam is a Christian concert tour that starts in January of 2024 and is set to travel across the east coast and midwest of the U.S. They include a mix of Christian music genres, such as rock, rap, and CCM. This year, Seventh Day Slumber is representing Christian rock at Winter Jam. This tour is a good way to introduce family and friends to heavier Christian music.

8. New Music from Demon Hunter?

This is more of a speculation than a fact right now. However, Demon Hunter is very consistent with releasing their albums about every two years (and sometimes less than that). They dropped a surprise single called “Some of Us” on October 6th, and since their last album was released in 2022, we’re hoping for a new album, or at least more singles, next year.

Listen to their new single "Some of Us" here:

9. New Music from Ledger

Ledger is Jen Ledger’s (the drummer from Skillet) solo project. She released an EP in 2018 and a couple singles in 2019 and 2020. Since then, she seemed to be focused entirely on Skillet, until she shared a reel on her Instagram saying, “Fun stuff in the works” and “Chris Marvin and Korey Cooper putting some magic on this track.” So, hopefully, we’ll have some new music from her soon.
